Submission

Guide for authors

Authors must ensure that their submission adheres to the following guidelines, and submissions that do not comply may be returned:

• The submission must be original and not previously published, nor under consideration by another journal. Any exceptions should be explained in the Comments to the Editor section.
• The submission file should be in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document format.
• The text should be single-spaced, written in a 12-point font, and utilize italics for emphasis (e.g. another language, scientific names, etc, except for URLs). Illustrations, figures, and tables should be appended at the end.
• The text must conform to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. 

To publish (papers or abstracts) in the BJMVB, authors must agree to the following terms:

• Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
• Authors are authorized to assume additional contracts separately, for non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in the BJMVB (e.g.: publish in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with acknowledgment of authorship and publication initial in the BJMVB.
• Authors are permitted and encouraged to publish and distribute the work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their personal page) at any point before or during the editorial process, as this can generate productive changes as well as increase the impact and citation of the published work.

Simultaneous submission and plagiarisms: BJMVB will not consider to be evaluated, full manuscripts that were simultaneous submitted to other scientific journals. Submissions with plagiarism and self-plagiarism will be also automatically rejected. Submission of abstracts and original manuscripts: The abstracts or original manuscripts must be sent by email (publicacoesbjmvb@gmail.com) Peer review of the abstracts related to scientific events: the responsibility of the acceptance of the abstracts to be published in the BJMVB is of the President of the scientific event. Peer review of the manuscripts: manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the subject of the publication. The corresponding author can suggest reviewers to the submitted paper, indicating name, institution, country, and e-mail address. The Editors of the BJMVB will decide about the acceptance of the names that were suggested.

Privacy Policy: The names and addresses provided will be used exclusively for the services provided for the publication of the BJMVB, not being made available for other purposes besides the publication of papers and abstracts.

Fees and charges: BJMVB does not charge any Article Publication Charges (APC).

Language editing: Only articles and abstracts in English are accepted to be published.

Submission Preparation Checklist

General information about the presentation of the manuscripts: The original manuscripts must be written with Times Roman 12 and the entire document should be in single-space. They must include title, running title, author information, ORCID), abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, conclusions and references, funding information, author contributions, conflict of interest and ethics statements. The authors will decide about the relevance of Figures and Tables in the manuscripts. Additionally, Clinical Studies must follow the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) or Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE), Reviews (systematic, metanalysis, narrative, integrative) must follow Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and to verify the necessity in using the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO), Protocols, the Standard Protocol Items: Recommendations for Interventional Trials (SPIRIT) statement and the Case Reports, the Case Reports (CARE) guidelines. All the manuscripts about different approaches of the applications of mechanical vibration must follow the guidelines published in: van Heuvelen et al, Reporting Guidelines for Whole-Body Vibration Studies in Humans, Animals and Cell Cultures: A Consensus Statement from an International Group of Experts. Abbreviations: They must be written in full the first time that they are used, with the abbreviation in brackets, for example, “systemic vibratory therapy (SVT)”

Units: The authors must use the units of the International System of Units.
